PRIP 2026 – Pharma & MedTech R&D Funding | Second Call
About the opportunity
The PRIP Scheme 2026 supports startups, MSMEs and industry developing innovative Pharma and MedTech products and technologies. Early-stage startups and MSMEs can receive up to ₹1 crore in fully funded financial assistance, with larger and later-stage projects eligible for additional support under the scheme.
Who can apply?
For the startup-focused early-stage track: - Startups - MSMEs - Pharma innovators - MedTech innovators - Projects that have completed TRL 1, 2 or 3 - Projects seeking to advance to higher TRLs, up to TRL 5 Academic collaboration with reputed Government academic and research institutions is also encouraged under the scheme. PRIP Priority / Focus Areas Relevant innovation areas include: - New Chemical Medicines / New Chemical Entities - New Biological Entities - Phytopharmaceutical Drugs - Complex Generics - Biosimilars - Novel Medical Devices - AI/ML-based medical devices - Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) - Software in Medical Devices - Genetic diagnostics and screening technologies - Robotic surgical devices - Telemedicine-enabled devices - Novel in-vitro diagnostics The scheme also supports strategic public-health innovations relating to areas such as rare diseases, antimicrobial resistance, outbreak/pandemic pathogens and vaccines
